Memory Lane ✖️ Zori

Zig had been laying on the floor of whatever abandoned house he was staying in this week, contemplating popping one of the assorted pills he had in is backpack just to see what it would do — like drug roulette, he decided — when his phone buzzed. He immediately jumped out of his skin, because nobody besides Vince really hit him up this late at night. That being said, you could imagine his relief when it was Tori, texting from the hospital. Zig had so many regrets when it came to how he treated the girl back when they were together, regrets he didn’t even know he had until his own life began to spiral. Since he’d had that epiphany, he knew the best he could to to make up for his shitty behavior was to be there for her when she needed him.

It took no time at all before Zig was pulling on his boots and heading towards Open Heart Memorial Hospital. He didn’t even wait for her approval for him to visit before leaving the house and twenty minutes later, he’d arrived on foot. After texting Tori, telling her to shine the flashlight on her phone through the window of whatever room she was locked away in, Zig hopped on the fire escape — clearly he’d done this before — and was soon enough climbing through the window of the dark room. After straightening his clothes and making sure the window was shut but still unlocked so he could make a quick escape when needed, he sat down on the edge of Tori’s hospital bed, taking in the sight of the girl. “Well look at you. All hooked up to wires and whatnot,” he cracked before looking at one of the many screens in the room. “If this were a superhero movie, you’d be a few injections away from becoming the next Captain America.”

Somehow Tori had landed herself in the hospital. She probably should’ve came here when this mess had started almost a month ago but, it took getting her drink spiked and Arlene to shove her into a hospital bed. Sleepy was the word for it, and as soon as she was hooked up to a drip, the nurse told her to get some rest. The more sleep the better apparently, and she took that seriously until a few hours later when she awoke and couldn’t close her eyes again. Maybe it was because she watched that Buffy Episode where the Demon killed kids in the hospital and she was just waiting for it, or maybe it was because secretly, she wanted her mommy. Either way, she fished for her phone in her jeans pocket in the bedside chair, and texted Zig who had instantly offered to visit.

Sure, it surprised her but, she knew she needed someone so, she didn’t hesitate too long before she agreed. Now, she was just waiting for him, phone flashlight on, to get to her room. She figured he’d take a long time but, soon she heard the window slide up, and a little bit of rustling as he stepped though before the cool air stopped, and the window shut. Hearing his voice, she shook her head instantly, a quiet laugh escaping her mouth. “I must look the hottest I’e ever looked.” she breathed quietly, dry throat sticking as she met his  gaze, a quick smile on her lips before she scooted over to make more room for him on the cramped bed. “What are you, Spider Man? You had to have scaled the building,” Obviously, she was teasing and it probably wasn’t that funny but, in her slightly drugged mind, her words sounded more clever than they really were.
