Jack stayed quiet for the moment as she just listened to what Tori had to say.Maybe she could have said something judgmental about the other girl’s strange laughter, or even about being careful at parties, but that would not be of any use. This was one of the reasons Jack hated parties, and especially the ones at the Ravine. Not much good could come of teenagers enjoying the saturnalia and not caring about other people’s safety. She nodded, and sat down at the corner of the bed. “If it’s any consolation, I was planning on spending at least an entire hour at the dance with you, during which I will be on my very best behavior,” she said cheekily, as if the confidence would help. “I won’t stay long, but I seflishly assumed I could make things better by coming, and, well…. Yeah.”
Not that the brunette expected judgement but, when none came she was a little shocked. Maybe no one was judging her because they were waiting for Manny to, later of course. That had to be the case since it seemed that Manny wouldn’t talk to her all day and was seemingly pissed off to the extreme. “Well, apparently I’m still allowed to go, if I rest to get all of this out of my system. So, you can of course still be on your best behavior.” Raising a sculpted eyebrow, she smiled gently. “You’re the first person I talked to all day, so coming here gave you some sort of free pass to be a jerk in the future if need be.”
